  3. if either I or II is implicit.
  4. if neither I nor II is implicit.
  5. if both I and II are implicit.

Statement:
The Government has decided to levy 2 percent on the tax amount payable for funding drought relief programmes..
Assumptions:
I. The Government does not have sufficient money to fund drought relief programmes.
II. The amount collected by way of surcharge may be adequate to fund these drought relief programmes.

a) If only assumption I is implicit

b) If only assumption II is implicit

c) If either I or II is implicit

d) If neither I nor II is implicit

e) If both I and II are implicit.

Answer: (b)

Only II is implicit as this is a desired effect, I is not a root cause as the Government may have sufficient money, but has decided to levy the charge to reduce the financial burden.

The General Administration Department has issued a circular to all the employees informing them that henceforth the employees can avail their lunch break at any of the half-hour slots between 1.00 pm and 2.30 pm
Assumptions:

II. There may not be any break in the work of the organisation as the employees will have their lunch break at different time slots.

Answer: (e)

A decision is taken when it is felt that it would be accepted by most of the people concerned. Hence I is implicit.
