Rama walked 10 kms south and turned right and walked 5 kms. Then again she turned right and walked 10 kms. Then she turned left and walked 10 kms. How many kms will Rama have to walk to reach the starting point?

A = Starting point D = End point

AD = $√{AE^2 + ED^2}$ ; Here AE = AB + BE (=CD)

= (6 + 6) = 12m & ED = BC = 9 m

∴ AD = $√{12^2 + 9^2}$ = $√{144 + 81}$ = $√{225}$ = 15m

Rahul is facing west. Then he turned right three times and walked straight for a distance of 15 km, 15 km, and 35 km respectively, How far is he from starting point ?

AB = SC =15 m, BC = AS = 15km

BD - BC = 35 - 15 = 20 km

SD = $√{SC^2 + CD^2}$ = $√{15^2 + 20^2}$
