Successive discounts of 12$1/2$% 2 and 7$1/2$% are given on the marked price of a cupboard. If the customer pays Rs. 2590, then what is the marked price?
Answer: (c)
Let the marked price of a cupboard = Rs. x
According to question,
∴ $x × (100 - 12.5)/100 × ({100 - 7.5}/100)$ = Rs. 2590
$x = {2590 × 100 × 100}/{87.5 × 92.5}$
x = Rs. 3200
