Type 2: Blood Relation Questions based on Relation Puzzles
In this type of blood relation questions, there will be more than one information in the form of puzzle. Which is given based on the information’s, you are required to deduce the relation between the two individuals. Then draw the family tree which should be same as asked by question to find the answer easily.

How to draw a family tree for Puzzles based blood relations?
It’s very easy to draw family tree,
- You have to know all the basic relationships can be formed in a family.
- know the basic symbols, notations, and combined symbols with meaning used in solving blood relation.
- Approach with small information, read the question carefully and divide the given information into smaller parts and draw individual relation diagrams (i.e., keep as much as small diagram showing a relation of minimum of two individuals).
- Then combine those individual diagrams by linking from the common person found between the diagrams.
Expression 1: A & B are couples
Expression 2: C is son of B
Expression 3: Adding both expression 1 & 2, we get new expression 3 as final family tree.
- After finalizing the full family tree given in the information, read the question once again and find what is asked mainly and then now see the family tree (or) compare those individuals in the figure and find the relation.
Some example family tree diagrams with questions;
Example 1:If A is B’s sister, C is B’s mother, D is C’s father and E is D’s mother, then how A is related to D?

Solution:
Let us draw the following family diagram,
Now we get, A is the granddaughter of D.
Option (a) is the correct answer.
Example 2:
In a family, there are six members A, B, C, D, E, and F. A and B is a married couple, A being a male. D is the only son of C, who is the brother of A. E is the sister of D. B is the daughter-in-law of F, whose husband has died. How is F related to A?
Solution:
Let’s start to draw a family tree,
- A and B is a married couple.
- A being a male. So, B will be the female.
- D is the only son of C and who is the brother of A.
- E is the sister of D.
- B is the daughter-in-law of F.
From the final diagram, it is clear that ‘F’ is the mother of ‘A’
Directions (Ex 3 – 6) Read the following given information and answer the following questions asked below.
There are six children playing cricket, namely A, B, C, D, E, and F. A and E are brothers, F is the sister of E. C is the only son of A’s Uncle, B and D are the daughters of the only brother of C’s father.
How is C related to F?

From the above diagram we conclude the answers for,
Ex 3. (a) D is the cousin of A
Ex 4. (b) Clearly, there are 3 male players among them.
