Applicants who are willing to appear in this exam need to know and understand the latest TNPSC Group 1 Syllabus completely. This will enhance their chance of qualifying for the Combined Civil Services Examination-I (Group-I Services) Prelims 2022-23 examination. This article will provide you with all expected questions according to subjects/sections and topic wise given as per the TNPSC G 1 syllabus 2022-23.
Applications are invited from eligible candidates only through online mode upto 22.08.2022 for direct recruitment to the vacancies in the posts included in Combined Civil Services Examination-I (Group-I Services).

TNPSC Group 1 - (2022-23) "Preliminary" Exam Pattern/ Scheme (Objective Type)
The structure of the Examinations which will be conducted online are as follows:

Important Note:-
- The questions on General Studies for Preliminary and Main Written Examination will be set both in Tamil and English.
- The Main Written Examination answer sheets of Paper-II, Paper-III and Paper-IV will be evaluated, only if the candidate secures minimum qualifying marks [40%- i.e., 40 marks] in Paper-I and the marks secured in Paper-I will not be taken into account for ranking. Refer G.O.(Ms) No.133, Human Resources Management (M) Department, dated 01.12.2021.
- Appearance in all the papers of the Main Written Examination and the Oral Test is compulsory. Candidates who have not appeared for any one or more papers of the Main Written Examination, shall not be considered for selection, even if they secure the minimum qualifying marks for selection.
- However, as per the orders issued in G.O. (Ms) No.49, Human Resources Management (M) Department, dated 23.05.2022, the differently abled candidates can avail exemption from writing Paper-I (Tamil Eligibility Test). Such candidate have to furnish the required details in the online application without fail. Subsequent claim will receive no attention. The candidates need to upload Disability Certificate (Refer Annexure-III) as prescribed in G.O. (Ms) No. 08, Welfare of Differently Abled Persons (DAP-3.2) Department dated 21.09.2021.
- Refer Para 17 of “Instructions to Applicants” in regard to instructions to be followed while appearing for competitive examinations conducted by the Commission.
- The syllabus for both the Preliminary Examination and Main Written Examination are available in the Commission’s Website at ‘www.tnpsc.gov.in’ and also in the Annexure-I of this notification.

UNIT-I: GENERAL SCIENCE

- Geography - Geographical landmarks.

- Science - Latest inventions in Science and Technology.
- Prominent Personalities in various spheres- Arts, Science, Literature and Philosophy.
UNIT- III: GEOGRAPHY OF INDIA Current Affairs,
- Location – Physical features - Monsoon, Rainfall, Weather and Climate - Water Resources - Rivers in India - Soil, Minerals and Natural resources – Forest and Wildlife - Agricultural pattern.
- Transport - Communication.
- Social Geography – Population density and distribution - Racial, Linguistic Groups and Major Tribes.
- Natural calamity – Disaster Management – Environmental pollution: Reasons and preventive measures – Climate change – Green energy.
UNIT– IV: HISTORY AND CULTURE OF INDIA

UNIT-VI: INDIAN ECONOMY

- Sources of revenue – Reserve Bank of India – Fiscal Policy and Monetary Policy - Finance Commission – Resource sharing between Union and State Governments - Goods and Services Tax.
