Out of total number of students in a college 12% are interested in sports. $3/4$ th the total number of students are interested in dancing. 10% of the total number of students are interested in singing and the remaining 15 students are not interested in any of the activities. What is the total number of students in the college?

Answer: (c)

Let 'x' be the total number of students in college

$x - [{12x}/100 + {3x}/4 + {10x}/100]$ = 15

$x - [{48x + 300x + 40x}/400]$ = 15

∴ x = 500

If the number obtained on the interchanging the digits of two-digit number is 18 more than the original number and the sum of the digits is 8, then what is the original number?

Answer: (d)

Let the unit's digit be y and the ten's digit be x.

Then, the number is 10x + y.

Interchanging the numbers, the new number is 10y + x.

Then, 10x + y = 10y + x + 18 ⇒ 9x - 9y = 18

⇒ x - y = 2 and given x + y = 8

Solving x = 5, y = 3

Then, the original number is 53.

The total age of A and B is 12 years more than the total age of B and C. C is how many years younger than A?

(A + B) - (B + C) = 12

&rArr: A - C = 12.
